Our first morning on location in Lord Howe Island we wandered off the typical tourist trails to New Gulch, located on the northern end of the island. Guided by naturalist and local island “guru” Ian Hutton, we found Flesh Footed Shearwaters and Red Tail Tropic Birds, two of the fourteen species of sea birds that nest here in the World Heritage area.

This afternoon we hiked south on the Island to observe the Providence Petrel mayhem with Ian Hutton. What we witnessed here was incredible! Can’t wait to go through the footage.
